Project Natal Price Revealed?

Throughout it’s illustrious history, Sweden has given the world many things, namely blondes, ABBA and the acting legend that is Dolph Lundgren. This weekend the Scandinavian country came through once again, leaving gamers with an insight into the pricing of Microsoft’s upcoming Project Natal.

Project Natal

Rumoured for release this October, several Swedish websites updated their listings for the anticipated add-on – and it won’t come cheap. Many sites – including Game – have priced Natal at $197, much higher than the previous reports of a $70 price tag.

Of course, with it’s release several months away and no official announcement from Microsoft as of yet, these prices should probably be taken with pinch of salt. Rest assured, Xboxic will keep you up to date as details emerge. Fingers crossed those details are a little lighter on the wallet though. If it costs that much no one will buy it I’m sure they are aware of that.

There’s no way I’ll pay more than 100 bucks for this.

Well the webpage in question clearly says “The price hasn’t been determined yet and may change”, and so Xboxic seems to be so fond of Sweden, why not top off this news piece with a Swedish saying - “you are making a hen out of a feather” :D.

It’ll be overpriced at launch - look at the previous webcam.

I saw a video early today for a game (Kung-Fu Live) thats supposed to be exclusive to PS3, it doesn’t use the “Move” at all, it uses the PS Eye to track body movement apparently, like Natal, and put you into an old school side scrolling fighter game by tracking your body and removing the real world background behind you on the fly. The PS Eye currently retails for under thirty five bucks. I’m not preaching Sony here or trying to start a console war thing, I could care less what system people choose to play on but this just brings to light that if Natal does release at that price point it wouldn’t make a lot of sense if the competition has something that can do a similar function for much much less.
