General Manager of the new Ubisoft Toronto Studio, Jade Raymond who is best known for her work on the Assassin’s Creed franchise has confirmed in an interview with Gamasutra that a new Splinter Cell title is in development.
The new Toronto based studio is working on the latest Splinter Cell game using the technology that was developed at the Montreal studio.
“All of the core team has relocated with me from Montreal,” said Raymond, speaking to Gamasutra as part of a series of interviews at the new studio. However, she said, “Where you develop a game does have an impact on who it appeals to… When you think of it like that, I think the Splinter Cell franchise fits Toronto,” alluding the the local flavor you’ll find in different Ubisoft games developed around the world”
She also stated in the interview that the studio will not pursue smaller projects and hopes that the Toronto Studio can grow its staff to more than 800 in the next decade.
