Last week, Electronic Arts broke the hearts of many a gamer by announcing at its Q1 earnings call that Crysis 2 won’t make it to the store shelves this year and will instead release in early 2011. Thanks to Crytek’s recent Twitter update we now know exactly when that will be.

The game is coming out on March 22, 2011 in North America and March 25, 2011 in Europe. That’s exactly 220 days (223 in Europe) from now. We feel for you, Crysis fans!

Expect to hear a lot more about Crysis 2 next week at Gamescom – we hear multiplayer will be showcased for the first time ever and Xboxic will be there to preview it.
