Tekken Zaibatsu reports that Namco has announced to Famitsu that the arcade version of Tekken: Dark Resurrection is coming to the Playstation 3’s download service. Exact details are unknown at the moment but Famitsu reports that Tekken: DR’s boss, Jinpachi, is available as a playable character for the first time.

Word out of Japan is a popular gaming magazine Famitsu has indicated the next game from the Tekken franchise will be none other than Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on the PS3!? Early reports note that it will be based off the arcade version of the game.

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is said to be a downloadable game and the release date and pricing is yet to be determined. The news snippet also mentioned that the game will feature high definition graphics and a playable Jinpachi.

Modes confirmed are Arcade Mode, Ghost Battle, and Gallery Mode.

The list of modes and the size limit of 500MB leads to suspect that the story mode and its FMV’s are missing in action this time around however the success of the PSP version and the updated high definition graphics really give Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade a run for its money.
