Chronos Twins receives autumn release date

Oxygen Games (whose previous titles include Dave Mirra BMX and World Championship Poker 2) has announced that the action adventure title, Chronos Twins, will be released in the early autumn on the Nintendo DS.

Described as a “delightfully nostalgic retro platformer,” Chronos Twins places players into the shoes of Nec - the last best hope for his planet - as he battles to save the world, and also avenge the death of his brother.

In what seems like quite an interesting concept, gamers must initially use both the top and bottom screens of the Nintendo DS simultaneously, switching between past and present dimensions in a bid to destroy whatever is causing mayhem on the planet Nec calls home (for example, moving an object in the past will also cause it’s position to change in the future). After you’ve been eased into the quirky style of side-scrolling gameplay, both past and present world mould into one.

Presentation includes “a colourful and vibrant setting with variety and diversity of graphics; desert, caverns, temples, technological worlds” says Oxygen Games.

Truth be told, Chronos Twins has had a bit of a rocky ride. In 2004, the Game Boy Advance version of the game was cancelled due to the publisher’s fear about legal disputes with Capcom in regards to graphical technicalities.

Now that’s all finally sorted, we’ll look forward to meeting Nec. Strange name, that.
