This year marks the 25th anniversary of the annual Golden Joystick Awards. With the recent announcement of this year’s shortlist, gamers should get voting for their favourite games in all of the seventeen different categories. Informaton on how to vote is after the jump.

This year, there are 17 different categories including Family Game of the Year, Soundtrack of the Year, Online Game of the Year and much more. Two popular Wii games, Wii Sports and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, feature in 5 and 3 different categories respectively, and even the the Wii console itself made it onto the shortlist for the Innovation Award. Wii Sports has been nominated for an extremely impressive five different categories and these are Family Game of the Year, All Nighter Award, Innovation Award, Nintendo Game of the Year and Ultimate Game of the Year. As previously mentioned, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was nominated for three awards and these are Soundtrack of the Year, Nintendo Game of the Year and Ultimate Game of the Year.
