It is a well known fact, that after Super Mario Bros., a plumber’s favourite videogaming franchise is Pipemania. And with Empire Interactive currently planning to bring it right up to date this June, the publisher has divulged a number of details on how the newest version of Pipemania is being worked on to be the best yet.
“The current generation of gaming platforms presented a great opportunity to re-create Pipemania with all-new features that are sure to challenge players of all ages and skill-level,” said Karim Farghaly, vice president of sales, Empire Interactive. “We are certain new and old fans alike will find it hard to put down the mayhem packed into the new installation of Pipemania.”
The object of Pipemania is for players to lay down a pre-ordained set of pipes onto a grid in order to keep the Flooze (a content flowing substance) moving, without overflowing, for as long as humanly possible. Forward thinking, fast fingers and a strategic eye are key to success. The newest build of Pipemania will include five different game modes (World, Arcade, Bonus, Multiplayer and Classic), consisting in all of over 70 levels across seven themed worlds. With new play mechanics, multiplay attacks and an army of characters that both help and hinder puzzlers, the entire game can be faced either by a single player or by two players co-operatively.
As a nice little bonus, the original version of Pipemania (released in 1989) is also included.
Pipemania is planned for both the Sony PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 2.
