Mercenaries 2 demo and DLC support confirmed
The once Playstation exclusive title, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, has had one hell of a bumpy ride throughout its yet-to-be-finished development cycle and if we’re in luck, we’ll get to test what Pandemic Studios has so long been brewing before the game’s launch on September 5th.
Pandemic’s creative director Cameron Brown has confirmed with Eurogamer that a demo is a possibility by saying “I’m not sure of dates or anything like that but yes, we want to do a demo.” Also revealed was that the developer plans to put out post-release downloadable content for the open-world title:
“There has been a lot of effort and energy put into downloadable content. We have it up and running on the consoles where you can trigger it and do it.
We’re definitely playing with it and it’s definitely something we see as an enormous opportunity.”
If Criterion’s approach to downloadable content is what Pandemic has in mind for Mercenaries 2, then a big thumbs up from us!
