GTA IV DLC coming late November?
Eurogamer has some sources close to Rockstar North who are spreading the word that the highly anticipated downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV is heading to gamers in late November, bringing with it an extra ten hours of gameplay.
The content remains exclusive to the Xbox 360, and apparently both batches of downloadable content will add ten hours each, as well as bringing two new sets of Achievements. There’s still no word on what will be included in the first package, but many hope new cities will be added with a whole new mission set.
There’s still no word from Rockstar or Microsoft about when we will definitely see the first content, which was originally speculated to arrive in the Fall. Rockstar had previously stated to expect the content between November 2008 and January 2009, so a late November release would make for a lovely, early Christmas present.

Should be good but not holding my breath for a November or even 2008 release. Hope the achievements are worth loads of points. Is there anything that can be done about annoying children joining in on GTA online, I’m sick of 14 year olds with their squeaky voices singing Eminem and Justin Timberlake down the head set.
Well bad parents could take responsiblity for their fucking annoying spawn and stop buying them 18 rated games.
Whats the chances of parents giving a fuck about their little cunt growing up to be another usless drain on society though.
always enjoy reading your responses, even if you are british i’ve never heard such an elegant way of bashing someone, keep it up.
id let my kid play gta if i had one
i dont think hes british hes just an idiot
I’m not British (with a capital letter). I’m Scottish.
You sir are however a fucking cock bracket.
My point still stands, kids shouldn’t be playing the game, if you have an issue with my point then feel free to comment. If you have an issue with the way I make my point then suck a dick bitch tits.
your still British but i get what you mean im English and i don’t like being called British.
The DLC would have to be something *very* special to make me rebuy GTA. After initially loving it the flaws just got to me; ridiculous save system, loooong drives before every mission (I know you could skip but still a pain), repetitiveness of said missions, pointless side-missions, poor driving/control system & crashes whenever I played for longer than a couple of hours.
Sounds like I hated it but quite the opposite, just wore me out. As for the idiots online…
I agree Ali, the previous GTA’s going all the way back to no.1 are some of my favorite games ever, i had high expectations for this and the game missed on all accounts except graphics.
I brought this on PS3 thinking the DLC will not be worth it, i know now that was the right decision as there is nothing they can add which will make this DLC worth paying for or even get given for free, unless of course they re-write major parts of the game (never going to happen).
Personally i think they forgot to make a fun game and instead made an interactive story which really was a let down for ALOT of people, looking at the amount of negative posts this game now gets on forums that much is obvious.
Shame such a great looking game, which had obviously been a labour of love for Rockstar, has missed it’s mark by such a long way for so many.
Here’s hoping they do a HD update to Vice City which is the pinnacle of the GTA series IMO.
That’s an unusual choice of pinnacle there although I can see why some people may choose Vice City. Personally, I loved GTA3 and I felt that although Vice City added some tremendous additions aka bikes, helicopters and a uber cool soundtrack. They fell down on some points that ruined it a bit for me.
Character animation in Vice City is piss poor compared to GTA3. Not being able to hold every weapon in your inventory was really annoying. I really wanted to use the minigun more, but didn’t because I refuse to lose the RPG from my hands. A lot of the missions were less fun than the GTA3 missions which inspired you to find different ways of doing them. The missions in Vice City generally only had one main solution.
After saying that, I feel that San Andreas addressed all these issues by adding a better control system and RPG elements such as eating and going to the gym. The missions were fun, the characters were great, the sound track was just as awesome as VC (Gloria Jones Tainted Love and Depeche Mode Personal Jesus being two of my all time faves). So for me GTA3 was great, VC added some cool features but was generally a bit of a let down, whereas San Andreas was definitely the best of the bunch.
If all Rockstar had done for GTA IV was rewritten San Andreas for Hi Def graphics, I would have been delighted. Good game as GTA IV is, it’s no San Andreas, that’s for sure.
The multiplayer is good, but too many assholes playing it puts me off.
See for me the thing that let SA down the most was the RPG elements and the size of the map. The RPG i can maybe forgive, i just thought the whole place was so big it lost the character that GTA3 and VC had.
Having said that i thought SA was alot better than GTA4.
I think we should start/join a petition for GTA3/VC/SA to all be remade in HD. I for one wouldn’t hesitate to buy all 3.
If VC and SA were updated with HD graphics I would cream.
Especially if they managed to squeeze in the online play.
if the dlc is suppose to be 10 hours then no way is it a new city.
well the orignol is meant to be 40 hours, and there are 3 main sections, so it could be a new island.
the 10hours would refer only to the missions added, because in free roam evreyone differs in how much time they spend on it
Isnt there already coming enough at the end of november :S?!
The dash update, A LOT of games, A LOT of updates… :S?
this way it wont get as much attention as if they would wait till january or something alike.
November is a poor choice for release given Gears 2 alone never mind Fallout 3, Fable 2 and COD:WAW.
I don’t see why it can’t be a new city though just because it’s 10 hrs. Shivering Isles was about 10 hrs gameplay and it was an entirely new map and a city as well.
Fable 2 hits in October here. =P
Also, indeed, 10 hours of gameplay typically refers to story- and side mission-wise, not just how big a map is.
1st it was August, then November, then recently January as 1 pack 15 hours, now its late November 2 packs 10 hours each. which one is it??? i believe it’ll be new cities cuz there is alot of hints and give aways in the game plus the plane ticket found in the Social Club. look past the 10 hours each and think how GTA 4 was crashing systems when it came out. if the next game has out of town missions were gonna need the cities on the hard drive.
also multiplayer map packs for GTA 4
I Think The Question Really Is…With GoW 2,Fable,Fallout,and Left 4 Dead Coming Out…Does Anyone Reeally Give A Shit ?
Its good to see some people not just bashing GTA IV, The one thing that kinda put me off the previous GTA’s was the feeling that they were all the same (apart from SA which was kinda extra crazy)
but GTA IV was a whole new experience. With the driving, effects when you shot someone or blew em sky high ect ect. People can’t cope with change very well so they go on making stupid reasons why it sucks, when really its an awesome game……. Hope the download content come out late November (would make a sweet B day gift)
I think the DC will be extra missions, clothes, maybe some new cars and thats prob it.
I think it would be better if they introduced business’ kinda like in vice city stories but in more depth and make it feel like your having to run the business, it would greatly increase re-playability and keep people hooked.
If the DC isn’t very good a lot of people are gonna feel let down esp if they brought an xbox just for the DC.
Oh and btw, PS3 blows chunks, big carrot coloured chunks covered in bits off fluff from the carpet ;o) (rant end)
They could allow you to take over the strip club in Bohan then have missions against the Biker controlled one on the main island.
I’m hoping for Planes, Flamethrower, Oil slick (for GTA Race), New Missions, New Cars and the ability to supe up cars like in GTA San Andreas, Also create yourself as a pedestrian or cab driver using the vision camera (I’m still trying to justify buying it.) New accessable locations would be great along with owning businesses, also the puting your own music on your own radio station would be great too.
All you guys that are hating on GTA IV suck!. You obviosly don’t appreciate it for what it is. yes they have cut out loads of extras that SA had but boo hoo. You can download SA on the 360 now so go ahead. Me personally i’ve always loved GTA since day one. I know a lot of people who are dissapointed with GTA 4 because there are no planes or parachutes, but just look at the extra detail thats been added in. the driving and steering has been completely revamped and i have to say, its spot on!!! the cars feel real, when you slide roud corners. I would go as far to say as it is easily my favourite racing game too!!!! the graphics are lush and the gore is beautiful. the body physics and animations when you run people over!!!!. Basically you have to look at it like this. There reinventing the series for the next gen consoles. they have deliberately chopped bits off, so they can build a new gaming world. Now GTA4 is built and the graphics and physics are sorted they can work on adding the things SA had. I wouldnt be surprised if we get a remake of VC next and then SA in a few years. or something along those lines.!!!!! plus the GTA 4 online is bloody awesome! GTA RACES ARE THE BOMB
