Resident Evil 5 to get collector's edition

Good news for you Resident Evil fans out there: Capcom released details today about European and North American collector’s editions of the highly anticipated new game in the series, arriving on March 13th. Not only will players be fighting for survival in African villages, but now they can do it with a sweet metal case and other goodies. Read on to see the shwag.

Unfortunately, it seems the Europeans are getting shorted yet again, as the North American collector’s edition is a fair bit heftier. Apparently Capcom assumes that nobody in Europe likes Resident Evil enough to warrant the extras. They certainly didn’t skimp on using the RE5 “Kijuju” motif anywhere they could possibly fit it, however.

The European edition is known as the “Steelbook” edition, and contains a bonus disc including a documentary on the making of the game, a digital art gallery, and a Resident Evil Degeneration trailer. The North American edition will include a fancy Tricell messenger bag, Chris Redfield figurine, BSAA patch and Kijuju-inspired pendant, as well as the above “Steelbook” tin and DVD. Obviously each of these is available only for a limited time.

Anyone that’s going to head to the nearest retailer and put some money down on either of these editions, say “aye!”

Actually, it’s coming on the 26th. The 360 also gets a sweet week of exclusivity. :D

The offical capcom press release says “world wide” on January 26th.
I’m hoping that means the UK too.

I’m surprised that the US edition gets more content than the European edition. Americans don’t tend to like Japanese game much. Not sure why. There are some crackers out there and this is going to be one of ‘em.

Well maybe the people that it is aimed at are the Americans that think Japan is a suburb of Paris, in the state of London, New Kansas. Rather than an American that has a brain.

You’d be surprised at the amount of weeaboos in America.

Since this site has abandoned PS3 news:

The PS3 version of the game, the regular, only, non collectors edition, will contain the bonus making of dvd by default.

last i read, at least.

I’ve got the film and it’s not bad. Nice cgi but could have done with more zombies. I did like the fact they kept walking to ledges and falling off :o)
