Halo Wars gone gold, demo drops Feb. 5th
Huzzah! Halo Wars has gone gold, and now RTS and Halo fans everywhere can look forward to a demo as well (with realistic expectations). Created by thee soon-to-be-defunct Ensemble Studios, Halo Wars is poised to drop players into (over?) the Halo universe to command UNSC forces around some very nice space scenery.
With the game now certified gold well in time for its late February release date, Microsoft is preparing a demo for eager Halo fans to arrive on the marketplace on February 5th. The demo will feature the first two levels of the single-player campaign along with one of the game’s fourteen multi-player maps, titled “Chasms”. Players should note that this map will only be playable in skirmish mode against the A.I., so they’ll have to wait until the full release if they want to play against friends.
Also of note is that the first Halo Wars Vidoc was released on Friday and is available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
After the wonderful experience that was Endwar, I’m sure many players are looking forward to playing with a more traditional control scheme (no, not a keyboard and mouse, unfortunately) once again. Is anyone looking forward to playing this?

Too bad this RTS isn’t on PC, like it should be. No matter how good you make the controls it’ll never be as smooth and quick to do anything as it is on PC. If it was on PC I’d buy it in a second.

Rizzle you’re missing out man. RTS games on consoles have greatly improved. EndWar is a good example and so is Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars even Red Alert 3 was pretty solid on a console. Too bad you’re probably gonna miss out on a great game, all cause its on a console? Worst. Excuse. Ever. i played a mean Star Craft, War Craft, Star Wars Battalion, Homeworld, Freespace and was obsessed with the Command and Conquer series on all PC and no complaints. Quit whining and try something new, christ.

Look, the 360 graphics are awesome, especially in 1080p on a big screen, and whatever claims you may have about the PS3’s superiority, you still forget they have a rather crippling small number of games and exclusives compared to the 360.
Not to mention, people who own both systems always vouch for the 360 anyway, simply because there’s just more.
