Yes it’s that time of the month again when we cast our beady little eyes over potential gamers for our Gamer of the Moment. For June we have not had to look no further than our own front page and we bring forth one of our regular readers and commenters ‘H34RT 4TT4CK’. In a bit of twist this month, as a regular to Xboxic we decided to grant him the whole page to share absolutely anything he wanted.
From this point on, we now leave you with H34RT 4TT4CK.
“One day, you’re going to give me a heart attack,” is what my girlfriend used to say when we first started going out, but then she stopped after a few months when she realized I considered it a compliment.
My name is Arthur but I go by H34RT 4TT4CK on Xbox live. I’ve been on Live since I first bought my 360, before that, I was on the original Xbox sans Live. I’ve played the halo trilogy, I followed Ninja Gaiden, and for the first time on a 360 played a Call of Duty title followed by the latest release of World at War. I’ve bought, borrowed, rented and downloaded a lot of games, majority of them a shooting mix.
I personally think that the 360 is the standard of gaming which other consoles should have to retain and improve upon, and I’m not just saying that based on what’s cooking inside it, but rather what it has to offer once you turn it on. Since this is an Xbox site, I don’t feel like I need to regurgitate on what is offered when we are all too familiar.
I personally don’t much care for Movie downloads and music streaming through the 360, as I am mostly there to just play games, but even that much is offered through Live which I think is a great strategy for game developers to bring a renewed interest in their games. Actually Rockstar hit the nail on the head with what people should expect from a game download, as other games offered nothing more than a costume permutation, or time trial missions of sorts.
As far as shooting games are concerned, I remember downloading the one and only map pack for Modern Warfare and of the three maps, only two are played in matchmaking, and even then, not so often. I personally would’ve liked to be offered a demo trial of the maps and offered to buy the maps individually, or Costco it and buy it in bulk for less. If they can do a game demo, they can do a multiplayer map demo. That way the developers can get a better taste of what gamers want and or expect from a Multiplayer map and tailor to the kind.
I look forward to Natal, I’m treating it with some skepticism but I have high hopes for the project and I think that it can offer a lot of applications outside of the 360 console. If anything, the 360 would be Natal’s baby steps before it will be used in the real world like say your kitchen, home theatre, even bathroom. But strictly speaking, I don’t think it’ll be all that great for a shoot ‘em up as I can’t imagine running into walls doing me any good, let alone aiming. But like I said, I’m dealing with a touch of skepticism maybe the devs will surprise me and make it work. You can definitely bet on me buying the thing, if only to make it easier for me to shift through Xbox Live and I’m not outside of playing a niche title such what Activision may be developing for it.
It’s been said that, on the internet, there’s no greater feud than that between fanboi of rival consoles. Such a passion, fervor, and lacking intelligence can only be found on a gaming forum on all sides. You can argue religion, politics, and contest Maxim’s pick for the Hottest 100 women, but it still won’t match the intensity as that of fanboi who are out on a fool’s mission to convert and cry blasphemy. For the most part, I think the whole drama is funny as I don’t waste my time and energy on a Playstation forum lauding it for its faults and praising the 360 because why? I’m probably playing it. Let me say this and let me make it clear. Neither console is perfect, but one could argue that one is better than the other for anything. Let the relevant numbers speak for themselves, and you’ll see the better console.
Many thanks to H34RT 4TT4CK for providing us with an insight into his gaming world; we felt an Xboxic regular didn’t deserve anything less than a full page to themselves.
