Xbox 360 Dash Update Entering Beta Soon
For those of you waiting in anticipation for the new dashboard update coming this season, there’s some good news: Microsoft will be releasing a beta to the public later this month.
For those that don’t know, the new dashboard update will incorporate Facebook, Twitter, and Last.fm integration to help further Microsoft’s desire to make the Xbox 360 a social center as well as a media center.
One of Xbox’s Entertainment Managers showed off the update in a private session for the press, and word is that it had all of the major features promised in Microsoft’s E3 press conference. Puzio-Brookes mentioned that a public beta will be released “middle-towards-end of October.”
Based off of this, it appears likely that the finalized update will roll out in November, just in time for major releases and the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
